Guntur Container Terminal or GCT, as a Leaap initiative, will be our trademark facility, taking the gateway port at Chennai and those at Vishakapatnam, Kakinada and Krishnapatnam bringing the ports inland, closer to where our customers are.

Guntur is the cradle of Indian tobacco industry and also home to spices, cotton yarn and linters. It is imperative that such cargo need packing and stuffing in the warehouse or in the factory as per stringent quality parameters, in the presence of Manufacturers’ and Merchants’ Representatives. The customers also insist on proper fumigation, more so for tobacco since it is susceptible to infestation, to ensure that freshness is retained and that there is no damage or deterioration in quality during transportation.      

This new Container Terminal at Guntur will help the trade to ensure that Manufacturers and Merchants will remain fully satisfied with the stuffing of cargo in clean and fumigated containers, in their presence, and then ventilated and sealed by Customs for direct shipment to ports of loading like Chennai, within specified deadlines. It is a port facility, which has been brought into Guntur for the benefit of the trade to achieve quality in their exports without any compromise.
